Scuba Certification Cost in Houston: What You'll Pay
Allison Oneill Oct 07, 2026
You can get scuba certified at Woodlands Dive Center for $449 or $649, depending on how you buy your personal gear. That's the class price. A few small costs sit on top of it. Here's the whole picture, so nothing surprises you. Your personal gear is a mask, snorkel, boots and fins. You want these to fit you well, and you'll use them on every dive after the class. The big gear is covered too. We provide the tank, BCD, regulator, computer, wetsuit and hood for the class. Your open water dives happen over a weekend. You pick from Mammoth Lake, Blue Lagoon or Spring Lake. These sites charge entry fees on top of your class price. Spring Lake's fee is $50 and is seasonal. Ask us about the current entry fee for the site you want when you sign up. If you plan to keep diving, yes. You need those four items anyway, and the $200 savings makes the gear cost a lot less. If you aren't sure you'll dive again, you can still take the class at $649. Rental is also an option. See our rental prices. You do your online learning first, then 3 to 4 days of classroom and pool time, then 4 to 5 open water dives over a Saturday and Sunday. New classes start every Monday and Friday. Ages 10 and up. If your child is 13 or under, check our kids classes. Call us at (281) 367-6664 or stop by the shop in Spring, just north of The Woodlands.
