How Often Should You Service Your Scuba Regulator?

Your regulator is the one piece of gear you really can't skip. It delivers every breath you take underwater. So it's worth keeping it in good shape. Here's when to service it and what to look for. Follow your manufacturer's recommendation. Brands set their own intervals, and some also go by number of dives. Check the manual or the manufacturer's website for yours. If you aren't sure what your regulator needs, ask us. We'll look up the right interval for your brand. Any of these, stop diving with that regulator and bring it in. Yes. Even if you didn't dive much, seals and parts age. A regulator that sat for a year should get looked at before your next trip. Our technicians take the regulator apart, clean it, replace the worn parts and test it. We use a flowbench to check performance, including at pressures over 150 feet of depth. We also use heated ultrasonic cleaners to get the parts clean. Our technicians are trained by Aqualung, Atomic, ScubaPro, Shearwater and TUSA. Tanks need checks too. A visual inspection is due every year, and a hydrostatic test every 5 years. See our air fill and tank inspection page for details. We take mail-in service, so you don't have to live near Spring to use us. Start on our service and repair page, or call (281) 367-6664.How Often Should You Service Your Scuba Regulator?
